Yes, it's almost July- time for the yearly pilgrimage to see missed family and friends, and remember how much we DON'T miss Iowa summers. This will be a short visit, since I am in the midst of a job search (thus unsuccessful). The plan is to leave Oregon on Sunday, July 5th. The drive is thirty hours, and we are old enough now to appreciate sleeping in beds at night instead of the hallucinations that come with driving straight through, so we should arrive in Muscatine on July 7th. So far, we have a Karaoke Party to attend on Friday, July 10, and a day of river tubing scheduled for Sunday, July 12. We usually reserve Mondays for Kyle's Mom and Grandma. This leaves time for my parents and Kyle's Dad, a July family birthday gathering, and a night in Iowa City. We plan to leave again on July 16th or 17th. We will be passing through Caldwell, Idaho for a night on the way out or back, to see Toni and her mom:) I am very excited to report that while we are away, Amelia has agreed to mind the pets, the house, AND the blog!
